Pastor Childers was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. Although he felt a calling to the ministry at an early age, he pursued employment in various industries before becoming a minister. After graduating with an AA degree in Television Production in 1990, he worked in the television industry for five years before going back to school and earning his B.A. in history at Whitworth College in Spokane. In 2001 he began his seminary classes at Andrews University and graduated with an M.Div. in 2005.
Pastor Childers worked for the Indiana Conference for 8 years, pastoring the Paoli, Tell City, and Huntingburg churches. He then served as the pastor of the Jellico/La Follette district in the Georgia-Cumberland Conference from 2013-2016. He currently is pastor of the Battlefield Community and Rock Spring churches. Pastor Childers has a heart for evangelism and wants to lead our church in reaching out and showing Jesus' love to our community.
Pastor Childers is married to Sonia and they have two children, Justin Jr. and Bridget.
David Fagre and his wife Sandra are from Caracas, Venezuela. They recently celebrated the birth of their daughter, Ivanna who was born in Chattanooga, TN. Samuel Nzoikorera was born in the Country of Burundi, East Central Africa. He lived there about 11 years of his life. Then in 1993, war broke out in his country and he had to flee to the neighboring country of Tanzania as a refuge. He lived in the refugee camp for about five years, and then was blessed with the privilege to come to the United States of America in December 1998.
He lived in Buffalo, New York for the first two and half years of his life in America, and then moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. That is where he met Dorothea, got married, and became a Seventh-day Adventist, in 2003. Samuel and Dorothea were heavily involved in the Cedar Rapids S.D.A church. In 2013, Samuel felt impressed by God to enroll in college to improve his communication skills in studying for the ministry. In 2016 he enrolled at Southern Adventist University, preparing for ministry, while Dorothea works to support both of them. He is expected to graduate in May 2019. The rest of their journey is in God’s hands.
